A pair of 17th century Italian Baroque period engravings, each framed and mounted using Art conservation standards. The first engraving dated 1621 is by
Giovanni Battista Pascualini
(1595 – 1631) and depicts "Aurora on her Chariot", based on a fresco painted by "Il Guercino" (Giovanni Francesco Barbieri - b. February 8, 1591 d. December 22, 1666) situated in the ceiling of the main hall of the Casino Ludovisi in Rome. The second engraving by
Arnold van Westerhout
(1651–1725) is dated 1695 and is titled "The Thesis of Imre Czaki", based on a painting by Giovanni Battista Lenardi (active circa 1660, died after 1703). It is one of a set of six engravings forming a composition with allegorical figures presenting offerings to Pope Innocent XII.
