A Louis XV Bergere Armchair

A large and well-proportioned 19th century French Louis XV style, finely carved walnut wing-back Bergere armchair. Normally upholstered with a separate, over-stuffed feather seat cushion, its good width and depth make it very comfortable to sit in. Note the harmonious curves of the legs, rails, arms and wings. Area of Paris, circa 1880.

Condition report: In very good and un-restored condition. Stripped of its covering fabric and re-upholstered, left with its hessian underlay.

Dimensions: Width 71 cm, height of back 109 cm.
