A French Tastevin Cup

A mid 20th century French plated tin 'Tastevin' (from the French "tasse a vin"), a wine-tasting cup. The handle decorated with a coat of arms and inscribed "Estats de Bourgogne". The Tastevin cup was invented in Burgundy in the 17th century to allow a lover of wine to smell, taste and look at wine. The bas-relief patterns on the cup are designed to help air the wine.
