A French Kitchen Work Table

An early 19th century long and shallow French solid beechwood kitchen work table, typically with an above-average height to allow for working while standing, the thick solid beechwood top traditionally jointed, well-worn and marked by generations of kitchen work, standing above four square-section legs from which a sturdy pot-shelf is suspended. A shallow drawer with its original cast iron drawer-pull is fitted into the front rail. Area of Normandy, circa 1840.
Condition report: In good and unrestored condition. The timbers are tinder-dry with some 'check-out' to allow for the use of meat grinders, etc. There is a burn mark on the top, which can be sympathetically patched or possibly coloured out.
