A French Cast Iron Reflector Plate

An early 19th century French cast iron reflector plate for a fireplace. The facade is decorated with an image depicting Zeus presiding over a scene of a fire being made, two Zephyrs blowing at the sides. The whole framed by 'Cartouche' inscribed with the haut-relief word "L'Hiver" (Winter).

Condition report: In good and unrestored condition, currently with a heavy sooty patina (which can be cleaned back).

Dimensions: 73.5 x 76.5 cm. Weight 65 Kg.
