A mid 20th century Italian majolica table decoration in the shape of a white-glazed woven basket with a pile of mandarins and cherries, on a bed of green leaves. Area of Capodimonte, Southern Italy, circa 1950.
Please note: this type of pottery work is considered a virtuoso level of work, due to the difficulty of double-firing a clay object (once for the red clay, once for the glazes).
