A French Louis XVI style, two light 'Bouillotte' lamp fitted with the original adjustable-height, painted and parcel gilt tole lampshade. Please note the elegant hunting horn shaped arms and the finely cast, chased and gilt metalwork. The pressed metal lampshade, as used on a Bouillotte desk lamp, shades the user's eyes from direct light. The light is directed onto a desk or a table-top by the reflective interior of the shade.
