An Hipollyte Moreau Statuette Lamp

A large 19th century French Art Nouveau period cast and chased and bronze-patinated spelter statuette of an "Amour", a standing cherub holding a quiver of arrows.  From the plinth stems a shaped rod, with its original lamp and lampshade-holder. Signed at the base "Hip Moreau" (Hippolyte Moreau, Dijon 1832 – Paris 1926) , a famous French sculptor in the Academic style. Fitted with a vintage French lampshade. Please note, our shop is able to re-cover this lampshade, or supply another lampshade for this lamp. Area of Paris, circa 1900.

Condition report: Complete and in excellent condition. Requiring cleaning, touch-ups and rewiring to Australian safety standards.
