A 19th century French Louis XVI style, carved and painted ‘Gueridon’ Salon table, decorated with haut-relief carved Neoclassical motifs including paterae, continuous-ribbon and string-of-pearls mouldings and, typically for the Louis XVI style, with allegorical 'crossed flaming torches and quiver' motifs. The top is fitted with a marble insert. The turned and fluted legs support a shelf fitted with raised edges. Area of Paris, circa 1880.
