An Italian Majolica Fruit Bowl

A decorative Italian white glazed majolica fruit bowl containing an assortment of majolica fruit and leaves glazed in natural colours. Please note: this type of pottery work is considered a virtuoso level of work, due to the difficulty of double-firing a clay object (once for the red clay, once for the glazes), with such intricate, woven patterns. Area of Southern Italy, circa 1950.
