An 18th century plaster bust of 'Madame de Fondville', attributed to Jean-Baptiste Defernex (Paris 1729 -1783). Madame de Fondville was a name given to an idealised image of an aristocratic French lady, as was also the name "le Château de Fondville" used used as an example of an aristocratic mansion. Area of Paris, circa 1780.
