A pair of French 'Crapaud' Armchairs

A pair of 19th century French Napoleon III period green velvet upholstered 'Crapaud' tub armchairs, standing on elegantly turned and ebonised feet which, typically, are covered by long braids, the rounded back-rests above elegantly scrolled arm-rests. These armchairs are made for comfortable seating. Area of Paris, circa 1870.

Condition report: In good and original, unrestored condition, the old velvet fabric in need of steam cleaning. Some damage to the braiding. Marks on the velvet should disappear with a steam clean. Please feel free to enquire re restoration costs, if required.

Dimensions: Width 73 cm, depth 72 cm, height of backrest 85 cm. Seat height is 34 cm.
