A large-size 19th century French coffee grinder, complete with its small collecting-drawer. The large handle can be mounted vertically (as in the photo), or horizontally above the machine. The stamped signature on the metal casing, "Freres Peugeot", is from the same brothers that later started the famous motor car brand. Area of Paris, circa 1870.
