A 19th century French Napoleon III period, Louis XIV style, carved and gilded mirror retaining its original hand-bevelled mirror, the hand carved and fretted foliate motifs gilded with 23k gold leaf, in contrasting burnished and satin gilt. The frame is harmoniously decorated with French Baroque volutes of stylised foliate motifs, typical of the formal Louis XIV style. Please note the excellent quality of the gilt finish. Area of Paris, circa 1870.

Condition report: In very good and original condition, the original mirror lightly foxed by time.
