A large, early 20th century French solid oak stepladder of well-engineered construction, sturdy and easy to use. The top is fitted with two curved hinges and with a folding, slatted platform, above six shaped steps. One of the ladder's uprights has the stamp of a well-known manufacturer of industrial furniture: Franco-Belge. Area of Northern France, circa 1930.
