A fine, mid 19th century French Napoleon III period, gilt pastille-work Louis XVI style mirror. Surmounted by an out-sized pediment incorporating laurel fronds, a knotted ribbon and a crossed torch and quiver motif, an allegory for Passion and Intelligence. The frame is decorated with stepped corners, acanthus leaf mouldings and a Classic 'string-of-pearls' pattern. Retaining the original mirror plate. Paris, circa 1860.
