A French Leather Elephant

An early 20th century French standing elephant, the 'papier mâché' body completely upholstered in its original calf leather 'skin'. The head is fitted with a pair of carved and ivory-painted tusks and its original leather ears. Please note the photograph showing the large size of this elephant when compared to a Champagne bottle. Area of Paris, circa 1930.

Condition report: In good and original condition, showing very slight wear in keeping with its age.

Dimensions: Height 58 cm, length 61 cm, width 21 cm.
