A French Louis XVI Queen size Bed

A 19th century French Louis XVI style finely carved and painted and upholstered bed, comprising bed head, footer and side rails. This bed will take a standard Queen size mattress (which is 152 cm wide). The long side rails may need to be lengthened (depending on the mattress), and if required, our workshop can sympathetically extend these. Note the excellent quality Neoclassical haut-relief decorations of the bed, and the footer's two pilasters. Area of Paris, circa 1880.

This bed is currently undergoing restorations and alterations to allow it to fit a Queen size mattress. 

Condition report: In good and original, unrestored condition, showing slight wear in keeping with its age. The upholstery might still be usable, after a steam clean. Our workshop is able to make a lightweight timber platform to support a mattress.
