An exceptionally large and shallow, 18th century French Regence period, painted 'Buffet Deux-Corps', the lower sideboard is fitted with two drawers and with five panelled doors, above a shaped apron. The four doors at each end open as double-doors. For ease of transport, the later top-section lifts off and is built in three separable parts. It is fitted with sturdy shelves for displaying plates and platters and books. Retaining the original brass handles. Please note the delicate and whimsical haut-relief carved vines and flower motifs on the façade. Retaining a soft grey/ sage, burnished paint finish. Area of Vignacourt, Picardie, Northern France, circa 1740.
