A large, late 19th century Chinese Qing Dynasty, Shiwan Glazed Majolica Foo Dog, originally made for a temple roof as a symbol of prosperity and success. Retaining its wonderful 'presence', with glazes in soft pastel colours. Area of Guandong, circa 1880.
Condition report:
In fair, original and unrestored condition. Weathered and with some old breakages.

40 x 20 cm, height 40 cm.
