A large, 19th century French Louis XVI style carved beechwood "Bergère en Gondole" armchair standing on turned, tapering and fluted legs. Note the elegantly curved back rest decorated with haut-relief carved 'continuous-ribbon' mouldings. The shaped chair seat fitted with finely woven rattan, curved flanks with double-cane. Area of Paris, circa 1880.
