An 18th Century 'Armoire de Mariage'

An important, mid 18th century French Louis XV period solid wild cherrywood 'Armoire de Mariage', the double 'Chapeau de Gendarme' pediment above shaped, panelled and book-matched doors decorated with delicate haut-relief carved floral and foliate motifs. Note the quality of the original, soft and luminous patination. Retaining its original (working) lock and key. Area of Rennes, circa 1760.
