A Franz List Etching

A fine, early 19th century portrait of a young and whimsical looking Franz List, Hungarian pianist and composer (1811-1886), derived from the original pencil drawing portrait by Ingres (Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres (1780–1867). Etched by renown 19th century French engraver Jean Alexandre Coraboeuf (1840-1918). The etching has a dedication to Mme. d'Agoult (Countess d'Agoult (1805-1876), Franz List's companion for many years. Fitted into a 19th century painted and gilded frame.
