A French Lit-en-Bateau

A 19th century French Napoleon III period, cast iron and wrought iron day bed, decorated with fine quality cast iron sleigh-shaped uprights, the horizontal elements decorated with small, baluster-turned cast iron pilasters, standing on six cast iron legs fitted with the original caster wheels. Retaining the original rails and fixing bolts. The bed retains its original (and clean) French bed base, but on request, our workshop can arrange for a different bed base and mattress to be made (at cost). Area of Paris, circa 1860.
