A fine Normandy Double Bed

An elegant 19th century carved solid oak Double bed, the header and footer are both finely decorated with haut-relief floral and foliate motifs, with large central bouquets and an overflowing basket, (allegories for abundance and youthfulness). The footer with a shaped rail decorated with haut-relief carved swags. Area of Rouen, Normandy, circa 1880. This bed retains its original bedside table, stock ID 10686, and can be purchased separately. This bed is suitable for use with a double-bed sized mattress (which in Australia is 137 x 188 cm).
