A French Empire Bed

A fine, late 19th century French Napoleonic Empire style, pale mahogany double-bed in the Classic sleigh shape, decorated with gilt bronze mounts in the shape of wreaths, cornucopias, paterae and stylised "palmette" motifs. Area of Paris, circa 1880.

Condition report: In very good and original condition, retaining the original and nicely-faded finish as well as all of its gilt bronze mounts.

Dimensions: 150 x 226 cm, height at highest point 130 cm.
