A Dressmaker's Louis XVI Armoire

A fine French Napoleon III period, Louis XVI style, carved, turned and fluted walnut Armoire, the single door fitted with the original bevelled mirror. The two pilasters on either side of the door open and swivel out on hinges, to reveal two pull-out mirrors that can be arranged to allow a person to view themselves from several angles. Please note the fine quality of the haut relief carved decorations of the facade and of the two finials on the pediment. Internally fitted with with adjustable-height shelves. Provenance: a dressmaker's atelier in Paris, circa 1870.

Condition report: Complete and in excellent condition, requiring waxing and buffing.
