A Parisian Directoire Armoire

A 19th century French Directoire style, finely carved and painted Armoire, the central door glazed with the original bevelled mirror, the front decorated with garlands of flowers undewr a stepped pediment with an outsized knotted bow. On either side of the central door open the curved side doors, with inserted woven rattan and carved 'paniers' panels. Internally, the armoire is fitted with adjustable-height shelves, the central compartment with a hanging-bar. Area of Paris, circa 1870.
