A pair of Louis XVI Chenets
Reference No: LF5
A pair of very fine mid-19th century French Napoleon III period Louis XVI style gilt bronze chenets (firedogs), decorated with central urns above draped plinths with Neoclassical feet.
If they don't find themselves used in a fireplace, these chenets will most likely be turned into wonderful table lamps: electrified and fitted with hand-made pleated silk lampshades. The gilt bronze has a wonderfully worn and glowing gilt finish. Area of Paris, circa 1860.
Below is a photo of one of a pair of chenets turned into lamps.
Condition report: In excellent, unrestored condition.
