A Normandy ‘Armoire de Mariage’
An early 19th century French carved solid oak Armoire de Mariage, decorated with haut-relief foliate and flower motifs, typical allegories for Spring time and fertility: the well-wishes for a married couple. Lower in height than most Armoires. Retaining a rich oak patination. Area of Rouen, Normandy, circa 1840.
Condition report: In good and un-restored condition.
