A large French Refectory Table
An outstanding, long and narrow early 20th century French, solid faded mahogany refectory table inspired by the construction techniques of Calvados (Normandy) Monastery tables of the 17th century – where the simple square-section legs are jointed directly into a massively thick top. The legs of this sturdy table base are joined by an 'H' stretcher, and fitted with two angled braces. Area of Calvados, Normandy circa 1930.
