A Majolica Soup Tureen
A mid 18th century French majolica soupière (soup tureen) decorated with bouquets of flowers against a white background, the original lid topped by a handle in the shape of a lemon. Area of Strasbourg, circa 1760.
This tureen makes for a wonderful 'vide poches', a place where to empty out your pockets of keys, coins, mobile phone, etc.
This piece is currently able to be viewed at Michelle Kindness Design, 21A Beatty Ave, Armadale VIC.
Condition report: In good and un-restored condition. The surfaces of this soupière have are well-worn, with several small chips and hairline cracks, in keeping with its age and lots of use.
