A French Sewing Table

A mid 19th century French Napoleon III period parcel gilt and ebonised pearwood work table, the serpentine-shaped top opening to reveal a satinwood interior with compartments, and the original pin cushion. The lid is secured in open position by a swivelling corbel. Retaining the internal compartment lids, and the pin cushion on a swivel. Note the fine gold leaf trellis patterns. Area of Paris, circa 1860.
