A French Pot Pourrie Vase
A large, 19th century French lidded potpourri aroma-dispensing majolica vase, the baluster-shaped body with haut-relief floral and foliate designs, against a background painted with Chinoiserie motifs. This vase is in the style of the famous pottery “Veuve Perrin”. Stamped underneath with 'VP'. The lid and the vase are fretted, to let out the aroma of potpourri into a room. Area of Marseille, circa 1880.
Condition report: In excellent, unrestored condition. A small old repair to the finial of the lid.
