A French Majolica Basket
Reference No: 402
An early 20th century French pale green Majolica platter in the shape of a woven basket. These platters represent highly skilled pottery considering that they were double-fired and the second firing compounded the risk of breakages. The underside stamped with the “Pichon” maker’s mark, Area of Uzès, Southern France, circa 1950.
