A French Chef’s Work Table
A sturdy 19th century French “Table d’Office”, a Spartan kitchen work table, the well-burnished and thick beechwood top with a myriad of work and knife-cut marks, standing above four chamfered legs joined by an ‘H’ stretcher, a shallow drawer fitted into the front rail. Retaining the original, dry patination. Area of Normandy, circa 1880.
Condition report: In excellent, unrestored condition, the timbers dry as driftwood.
Dimensions: 110 x 52 cm, height 75 cm.
