A fine Louis XVI Mirror
A mid 19th century French Napoleon III period, Louis XVI style gilt mirror of fine quality and elegant proportions. The simple frame with a large stylised 'acanthus leaf' haut-relief moulding pattern, the gilding nicely worn, surmounted by an out-sized crest with an allegorical torch & quiver motifs: (the flame of knowledge, the arrows of passion), and a foliate and floral wreath. The top corners of the mirror with swags of laurel leaves. Retaining the original mirror plate. Please note: this mirror will suit console table #7849. Area of Paris, circa 1860.
