A large and fine mid 18th century French Louis XV period Trumeau mirror of good proportions, the frame decorated with Rococo foliate motifs, the pediment’s inserted panel is an oil on canvas painting depicting a rural French landscape. Note the quality of the well-patinated gilt and painted finish. Paris, circa 1750.
Condition report: In good and un-restored condition. Requiring the carved and gilt mouldings on the pediment to be lowered to their original position. Small repairs required to losses of carved decorations.
