An early 18th Century Commode
Reference No: ML
A rare, early 18th century French Regence period, solid walnut, serpentine-fronted three-drawer commode of particularly small and pretty proportions, the timbers well-burnished and with a dry patina. Note the very good quality, original gilt bronze mounts and escutcheons. Area of Paris, circa 1720.
Condition report: Complete and in 'virginal' condition - very little repair work has ever been done to this piece since it was built nearly 300 years ago. With careful conservation work in our workshop, this commode will be 'brought back to life' and be stunningly beautiful.
Dimensions: 67 x 46 cm, height 86 cm.
