An outstanding French “Art Populaire” Table
An outstanding 19th century French “Art Populaire’ (Folk Art) carved oak circular, tilt-top ‘gueridon’ table, the pedestal base, turned pilaster and waist-board carved with whimsical haut-relief trellises of leaves. The top and the base are very nicely faded. Area of Normandy, circa 1860.
Condition report: In good and un-restored condition. The locking mechanism of the tilt-top needs repairs. The finish will require waxing and buffing.
