An exeptionally large French Napoleon III Mirror
An exceptionally tall and wide, mid 19th century French Napoleon III period, Louis XIV style mirror. The arched pediment and the uprights decorated with a delicate, haut relief climbing rose pattern, and retaining the remnants of its original 23k gold leaf gilding. This mirror is restorable, but it may find a suitable home while it’s in the condition it’s in: characterful, very worn and faded, with much of its carvings and finish missing. Retaining its original mirror plate. Area of Paris, circa 1860.
Condition report: In totally un-restored condition. Miguel suggests that our workshop stops further degradation to this mirror, and leaving it with its well-worn finish.
Dimensions: Height 265 cm, width 162 cm.
