A Parisian Oeil de Boeuf Mirror
An important, mid 19th century French, Napoleon III period, Louis XV style, “Oeil de Boeuf” (Bull’s Eye) oval mirror. Surmounted by a large Rococo “Cocquille” and foliate scrolls crest, and with a second smaller “Cocquille” plinth, the oval frame is decorated with egg-and-dart and string-of-pearl mouldings. Retaining the original, bevelled mirror plate. Area of Paris, circa 1860.
Condition report: In good and un-restored condition.
