A large Carved and Gilt French Frame

A fine and elegant 19th century French Napoleon III carved and gilded pastille-work frame, originally destined for a painting, but could be fitted with a bevelled mirror. The wide-sectioned frame decorated with haut relief carved oak and acanthus leaf decorations. Note the excellent quality and the nicely worn gilt finish. This frame can hang vertically or horizontally. Area of Paris, circa 1860.
Condition report: In excellent, unrestored condition. This frame is currently complete, but dis-assembled. The last photo in this series gives an idea of what this frame would look like, once assembled and fitted with a mirror.
