A French Louis XVI Mirror
A finely carved and gilded 18th century French Lois XVI period mirror surmounted by a fretted, out-sized ‘Cartouche’ pediment decorated with a knotted ribbon and olive branch wreaths, the original mirror pane framed by tessellated mirrors. Retaining all its original and well-worn gilding. Area of Paris, circa 1780.
Condition report: Complete, in good and un-restored condition. This mirror will require cleaning and touch-ups of gilt losses.
