A French Empire Mirror

An elegant, early 19th century French Empire period mirror of Parisian quality. The finely-moulded gilt frame decorated with stylised Neoclassical foliate motifs in gilt pastille work. The original gilt finish is slightly worn and dulled by time. Note: the swan motifs refer to Josephine Bonaparte, and her collection of black swans, from South Australia. Area of Paris, circa 1810.
Condition report: In good and un-restored condition.
