A fine Provincial Chandelier

A large and wonderful, early 20th century French wrought iron and gilt tole work Provincial ‘Cage’ chandelier of eight lights on two levels, each of the arms shaped in harmonious ‘S’ scrolls, ending in drip-trays and candles, the structure retaining the original pressed and the gilt tole foliate decorations. Of very good proportions and workmanship, and decorated with cut ‘teardrop’ crystals, and elegant crystals that are shaped and coloured to resemble hanging fruit. Note the excellent patination of the wrought iron. Retaining its original ceiling-cup and 34 cm of chain (our workshop can alter the length of chain if required). Area of Isle de France, Greater Paris, circa 1920.
Condition report: Complete, in excellent, unrestored condition. Requiring to be re-wired to Australian safety standards.
Dimensions: Diameter 73 cm, overall height 85 cm plus any required length of hanging-chain.
