A ‘Coco Chanel’ Table

A rare, vintage French wrought iron and pressed tole-work low table in the shape of a gilt and silvered sheaf of wheat (an allegory for ‘Prosperity’) supporting an oval, clear glass top. This table was designed by the Parisian design establishment, ‘Maison Jansen’, and known as the ‘Coco Chanel Table”. It was produced in France in the 1960s based on the model of a similar table which was gifted by Salvador Dali to Coco Chanel for her apartment in Rue Cambon, in Paris’ First Arrondissement.
