A Calvados Bottle

A rare and collectible, early 20th century clear glass Calvados bottle, the inside of the bottle fitted with a “ship-in-a-bottle” type of pyrographed timber construction depicting a typical rural scene from Normandy. This bottle depicts a blacksmith working his hammer against an anvil. This bottle would normally have been filled (and re-filled) with Calvados from a barrel, for home use. Area of Normandy, early 20th century.
