A 19th century French Confit Jar

A rare 19th century French glazed majolica “confit” jar, of remarkable blue colour. These French preserving jars, glazed on the inside, were normally glazed externally in a Siena yellow, sometimes in green, and very rarely in blue. Area of Anduze, Southern France, circa 1880.
