An 18th century Parisian Chandelier
An 18th century French fire-gilt bronze and cut crystal ‘cage’ chandelier of six lights, decorated with heavy and out-sized and shaped crystals, a large central 'poignard' crystal and with a large, etched crystal ball. The gilt bronze cage has an early construction technique and has typical 18th century elongated proportions. Currently set up for use with candle-lights. The original gilt bronze finish is well worn and with a dark bronze patina showing through. Area of Paris, circa 1780.
